Private Pilot Licence (PPL)

A Private Pilot Licence (PPL) is a license that permits the holder to act as the pilot-in-command of an aircraft privately (not for pay).<br> The requirements to obtain the license are determined by the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO), but the actual implementation varies widely from country to country. According to the ICAO, it is obtained by successfully completing a course with at least 40 hours of flight time, passing seven written exams, completing an extensive solo cross country flights, and successfully demonstrating flying skills to an examiner during a flight test (including an oral exam).<br> In Kenya, pilots are trained in accordance with the Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations, which allows them to apply for their Licence in as little as 40 hours. However, most pilots require 50–60 hours of flight time to complete training.

1. The minimum age for one to be issued with a Commercial Pilot License is 17.
2. One must demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
3. Be in possession of a valid Class 1 Medical certificate.
4. Be in possession of a valid Student Pilot’s License.
5. Achieve minimum flight time as stipulated in the Civil aviation regulations.
6. Pass all stipulated theory examination
